TAXI

Before Uber & Grab Car existed, people will always looking for taxis to ease their journey. There are two kind of taxis as below and there are the differences.

Budget Taxi
  • The size of a budget taxi is as same as the usual car which can fit 4 persons. Taxi should always go by the meter. It will start from RM3. RM1 will keep adding to the fare for every 1 kilometer.
Premier Taxi
  • Compared to Premier Taxi, the size of the car can fit 6 persons and the meter will start from RM6. For every kilometer, RM2 will add on to the fare.

In addition, there will be a surcharge of 50% every pass midnight until 6A.M. .However, if passengers suspect that the meter has been tampered with or if the cab driver changes his mind about the fare, passengers are recommended to call the toll-free hotline at 1 800 88 9600 and to lodge a complaint to the authorities. That is why before you enter the taxi, ask the cab driver first whether they are going by the meter. And if they don’t, find another taxi or other alternative to get to the destination.

There is a kind of bus that you can ride and enjoy the scenery of Kuala Lumpur at the same time. Hop-On Hop-Off double decker bus which has an open deck to let the passengers enjoy the sky view and also a “free and easy” city tour that has 23 stops which cover more than 70 attractions.

RAPIDKL BUS

There is also a normal shuttle bus called ‘RapidKL’ bus. The buses are located in many places around Kuala Lumpur, so it's easier for people to get to their destination. Hence, the buses have its own schedule time and route number specifically.

TRAIN

Another way to travel around the city is by train. There are plenty types of trains. For example, KL Monorail, RapidKL LRT, ERL (KLIA Transit & KLIA Ekspres), KTM and MRT. Each type of trains has its own stops and detinations. So, there are the possibilities to change from one to another train in order to reach to the destination. It was so confusing at first. But I slowly managed to understand how does it goes. For train fare, it depends on the distance traveled.
